The purpose of the Johnson High School Band Boosters is to provide support for and promote closer cooperation between the Johnson HS, Dahlstrom MS, or McCormick MS Band programs, the parents and guardians, and the community. Once your child joins band you ARE a member of the JHS Band Boosters. It takes the untiring support from our Booster Parents -- YOU -- for the bands to attain their highest potential. YOU are a big part of their success! How can you help?
BUSINESS SPONSORSHIPS - Committee Chair MELISSA FRENSLEY
Are you well connected to area businesses? Enjoy meeting new people? Have great ideas on sponsorship benefits that would be attractive to businesses? Help the Jaguar Band fund our program and support our kids by obtaining sponsorships! This can involve email submissions from home, mailing or dropping off requests for support and talking to business owners you know. Can be done from home, out and about visiting business locations, networking events, emailing, etc either day or night. Skills: Data gathering, creativity to design sponsorship flyer, outgoing personality, social (likes talking to new people). Late summer through fall.
Be part of the team to promote, sell ads, create, pick up and sell our Football Program at varsity games. This could involve computer skills in tracking program sales and ad completion, the ability to attend varsity football games and sell programs to fans, or simply being the go-fer to pick up our program from the printer. Late summer through October.
JAGUAR JOG 5K/10K - Committee Chair JOSEPH CARTER
Are you a runner? Enjoy celebrating others at the finish line? Like planning events? Help us with our annual Jaguar Jog 5K/10K event the third Saturday of September (9/19/2020). We will help gain sponsors, recruit vendors, promote registration of racers in the community and via school groups/clubs/athletics. Help coordinate volunteers for race day and fun ways to celebrate our event through music, photo booth, and more! Late summer through the event date.
SPIRIT GEAR - Committee Chair WENDY CORDERO
Share the love by being part of our Jag Swag team! Love finding creative shirt designs and new products to support school/band spirit? You can help create our designs, choose items for our Jag Swag store, work with vendors, and sell/distribute our spirit gear at games and events.
Are you a Jack-of-All-Trades? Handyman? Crafty Mama? Help design and build our props for our Marching Show along with supporting our band at their Fall performances. Time commitment is flexible but does include Friday Night football games and Saturday competitions. Late Summer through early Nov.
Do you enjoy planning events and coming up with fun ways to celebrate others? Do you always remember everyone’s birthday and think of ways to make someone feel special “just because”? Be part of our Celebrations Committee and be part of celebrating our students and helping plan our year-end Band Banquet.
Have you helped plan a successful silent auction? Know local musicians or bands? Are you the “hostess with the mostest”? Join our Band Bash Committee and be part of our community-wide event with live music, silent auction and other fun activities that are sure to be a hit.
Do you enjoy meeting new people and making everyone feel welcome? Our membership committee hosts our booster general membership meetings and is an ambassador for our program. We will also help devise ways to track and reward our volunteers and members.

(photographers, social media) Do you enjoy photography? Can you take pictures at an event? Do you enjoy designing graphics? Are you a wordsmith? Social marketing whiz? Help keep our website and social media interesting with great images and messaging to promote and celebrate our band program and students with JHS and our community. Can be done from home as well as events, day or night.
Plan and prepare to ensure JHS and our Winter Guard shines as we host a Texas Color Guard Circuit Competition this winter! This is our biggest and most complete single event of the school year. We will cover everything to ensure participant and guest experience is amazing - from set-up,ticket sales, concessions, event organization, coordinating on-site vendors, medical first aid, and hosting judges and directors rooms - to show how Johnson High School and the Jaguar Band Program excel!
(Includes Uniform Coordinator, Equipment, and Winter Guard Meal Plan and Show Shirt) Didn’t get enough of the fun during Marching Season? Want to help our amazing color guard excel during their winter competition season. This group of dedicated volunteers will coordinate Winter Guard meal plans on competition days, assist with uniforms and equipment and help design a memorable show shirt to celebrate the Jaguar Guard. Tasks are mainly during the winter and many jobs can be done from home.

Are you first aid certified or have a medical background? Can you help assign, organize, or wash our uniforms? Want to help feed our band students? Are you able to “show up and volunteer” for whatever when it fits your schedule? Be part of our support crew! Time commitment is flexible and many things can be done either at home, at school or at events - day or night.
