Tracye Mendez

Ms. Mendez is our amazing Fine Arts Secretary at Johnson High School and truly the one who knows everything there is to know about the band program. Born in Wichita Falls Texas and raised in Vernon Texas. Graduated from Vernon High School and was a member of the Roarin’ Lion Band as a clarinet player and student leader.
Received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Vernon College. Worked as an Oil/Gas & Ranch Secretary-Bookkeeper for James M. Alexander & Company of Abilene, Texas, for 16 years before moving to the Austin area in 2005.
I’ve been a part of the Hays CISD Music Department since June 2006 working with Joey Lucita at Lehman High School.
Married to David Mendez and have one daughter, Morgan, who is a senior at Texas State studying Elementary Education. Tracye enjoys being with her family and playing with her fur babies, Molly and Buddy.
